About Us

BRL Research is an innovation-driven company focused on the development of technologies applicable to the purification, enablement of high-concentration injectable protein therapeutic formulations, and oral delivery of biotherapeutics.

OurStory

BRL was founded in 2013 by experienced scientist Dr Bhami, who has worked in the United States for over 30 years, and biotech entrepreneur Dr Surya Pai, who is also a well-known dental surgeon with over 20 years of experience in the life science industry.

Over the course of several years, BRL has successfully developed globally patented platforms to address the fundamental challenges of protein therapeutics development. Our range of technologies enhances protein concentration in formulation, purification yield, and oral delivery.

Over the years, the biological market has expanded and will continue to grow. Most novel drugs are not yet affordable for the general population worldwide. Every multimillion-dollar biologic is a result of the high cost of the drug, as opposed to the population it benefits.

NARICOVER

BRL has conceptualized the idea and performed studies on a pharmaceutical lozenge product ‘Naricover” for Indoco Remedies Limited. Naricover lozenges contain Naringin, a flavonoid in citrus fruits, and have antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties for use in throat medications. These are used to treat suspected viral sore throats and dry coughs.

Recognizing the high quality of BRL's R&D work, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, bestowed the award on our R&D unit. The business performance was reviewed by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India, based on which the recognition has been granted until 2025.

DSIR recognition is a result of research activities being carried out by BRL in high-concentration and drug-delivery platform technologies, as well as the research infrastructure being built to carry out such high-end research activities. BRL is now part of an elite club of 3000+ companies amongst millions of other R&D facilities across India and is eligible for many grants by the Government of India and international funding agencies for R&D activities. This helps BRL to progress with a greater focus and accomplish its mission and vision.
